I enjoyed this and was curious to learn more about her but I think that I could do without the guide section because some bored me.
Most of the stories were not in order and she didn't really go into too much detail of how she blew up and the process of creating ABG etc but it was still an interesting read, if a bit vague.

This was such a quick, fun read. It honestly felt like sitting down with a friend and chatting about life. As a white person, it almost felt like I was eavesdropping on a conversation I had no business being a part of. I loved the stories and the strong narrative voice. My only negative was the seeming lack of focus - the structure was very loose and a bit all over, which is totally fine, other than it's not my preference. Excellent book for those who enjoy memoirs, light-hearted non-fiction, and a glimpse into a different perspective on life.
I enjoyed reading the Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. I liked the length of the book and the humor, but it was not well organized. I think it would have been better to go in chronological order, instead of the random chapters that take place during various periods of time. However, I still enjoyed reading this so I’m giving it 4 stars.

A great read with laughs at every turn, a great preview to a queen in progress
I LOVE Issa Rae, and therefore had very high expectations for this book. Maybe it was her reading of it for the audiobook, but it paled in comparison to her incredible personality that comes through on screen or in interviews.

Listened to the audiobook. It was a fun listen overall. Her experiences were interesting and her advice was thoughtful.
