This is a fun book that is a sort of trickster tale. The farmer falls at the mercy of some serious criminals, but keeps his wits about him. It has a tall tale quality about it. I thought it odd that there was a rather lengthy historical note in the front. It seems that the book is set up to be used by an adult with children rather than for a child to just pick it up and start reading. Once you get past that somewhat dry section, the story is actually quite entertaining. It is also in both Spanish and English.
