"Real life is only ever just real life. Messy. What it means depends on how you look at it. The only thing you've got to do is find a way to live there."

I don't wanna say too much about this book, because I believe that going into this book without any knowledge of what's going to happen is the best way to read it. I will say, though, that this book absolutely took me by surprise. I didn't really have any expectations for it, as I did not know anything about it, but I absolutely loved the plot and the characters. I will definitely be picking up more of Patrick Ness' books in the future.

I just thought it was underwhelming, I semi-liked the death and mysterious vibes but it was very repetitive and I disliked the way it was written. The pacing bored me and I felt we constantly got too many details like you don't have to explain how they got to the same place so many freaking times. I felt that the way it was written ruined the suspense for me too, it just got predictable in a sense. Like no, the plot itself isn't, but the execution sure is. Also quite unsatisfied with that ending as it really didn't give us the "right" answers and didn't leave us with any crazy questions either idk...

This is one of those books that make you wonder if there is indeed something more than this.

Bought this book on a whim off Vinted, and so glad I did. Could not put the bloody thing down! Fast-paced, a bit sci-fi, a bit philosophical, lots entertaining!

This book was a spontaneous buy and honestly one of the best book buys I have made. Patrick Ness is a phenomenal writer and his characters are beyond interesting and relatable. The story is wonderfully constructed and ropes you in from the first sinister chapter. I fell in love with Patrick Ness' writing due to this book.
