I gotta say the beginning is boring, I almost dropped it, you don't get why the author very slowly tells you a bit of the story of this man and then it gets interesting.
Unfortunaly, I didn't have all the references to real people and events so I couldn't fully grasp everything but I'm glad I read it. I learned a lot. Obviously it's fictional so not 100% true. Nice to have a hint of russian history I guess.

I found this interesting as a concept. A journalist writes up their theories and ideas about what is really going in inside the Putin regime and packages it as a novel, where the main character is some critical Putin advisor who has recently been disgraced and is now ready to tell the whole story to a journalist.
I am not sure if it was true, or right, but it was an interesting take.
