A quick and pleasant read. While it lampshades some of the tropes it falls into, maybe because of this it didn’t quite hit me in the feels the way I would have imagined it should.

A really beautiful and emotional story. Fast paced, easy read, thoughtful, reflective, lots of quotes to hold on to, and full of heart. I enjoyed this one thoroughly even though it was more emotional than I was expecting- not as funny/optimistic as the blurbs on the book make it seem. I think fans of The Reading List or No Two Persons would enjoy this one.

Such a great read! Really loved Maya as a character. And A.J. despite being cold/abrasive, he really is lovable. I was NOT expecting the twist before part 2. No spice, so if you want to read a well rounded literary fiction, I would highly suggest this book. Looking forward to watching the film adaptation to see how it holds up to the book.
