This is the very few anime to manga transition that I've done. Meaning that after watching the available anime, I wanted more of the story so I decided to read manga. I started from where the anime ended though. I read the first volume and the anime did really well in following the manga closely.

It's really worth it.

Although it's just about an isekai-ed person with an "unusual skill" and a his bunch of gluttonous contracted familiars going through places just to eat various exotic monsters through our-world cooking methods, it just isn't boring for me. It helps that there's food porn, the characters are not annoying (except for those gods and goddesses with bratty attitudes that were added just to have those kind of staple Japanese characters; cool with the blessings though), and there's a variety of monsters to choose from.

It just rinse and repeat in every place they go to (subjugation/elimination quest, get monster meat butchered, cook the dish for the day, then get the monetary rewards from sale of monster parts, bonus level, rank, reputation level-ups) though, so I don't know if they can keep up the momentum or it plateaus somewhere and becomes stale.

For now, I'll just quietly enjoy this adventure/slice of life story. First time I've laughed in some time.
