The year 2199 seems interesting, but the one thing that stuck out at me is that all diseases are easily curable, and whatever mental/emotional/psychological issues people have can be fixed with an upgrade. My question is: do disabled people exist in this timeline? I know there are ethical issues in getting cures and treatments; namely does the disabled person want them or able to afford them? Ridge’s mom does debate on the whole upgrade issue, as if whatever issue we have is seen as some flaw that needs to be fixed, which isn’t necessarily the case. I wish there was more discussion on that, because having no disabled people in the future looks eugenicist.
