This is the least interesting book of the series so far. Mostly because it feels like it's irrelevant. We could have done with a brief summary of most of the events described here at length and would be none the worse for it.

That being said, I loved parts of this book. It's very much about women, in all sorts and places and with all kinds of power. I love Brienne, loved Dorne, like Sansa and Cersei (as a read. Cersei is an utter bitch as a person). I could have done with less Iron Islands. I admit to skipping some of those parts.

I love every book in this series. They're all so captivating with such a rich world and many-faceted characters. That being said - I didn't like this one as much as the others. There were way too many Cersei chapters and I could care less about the iron born. While there were still a few chapters of Arya and Sansa, there weren't nearly enough for either of them. It was almost like those chapters were thrown in as an afterthought here and there. I'm looking forward to catching up with Tyrion, Jon, Daenarys and all of the others I've missed so much as I start Dance of Dragons.

What can I say about A Feast for Crows? Or should I say, what can’t I say about it. First off the size of it, usually I could read a book like this in a few days but it took me a lot longer than I originally intended. However, I’m glad it did. I managed to throw myself deeper into the story and I appreciated it more. I was also happy to see Cersei’s POV! An enjoyable, drama filled and intense view on her life in Kings Landing surrounded by her council of flatterers and fools.

It’s also important to note that we’re finally seeing more character development from Jaime. I was shocked, but happy to see that he decided to uphold his vow to Catelyn Stark, by allowing Edmure to live, even as a hostage at Casterly Rock. He also burnt Cersei’s letter, something I couldn’t ever imagine him doing a few books ago, he was obsessed with her and would do anything for her love.

This book just has so much going on, so much development it was hard to keep up at times! A solid 4 star read, i would definitely love to read again in the future.

This is a hard read. It's slow and a lot of the plotlines seem so detached from the main goal, it can be hard to follow as the author really focuses on worldbuilding and lore. That said, this book contains some of the best written character developments in Jamie, Arya and Jon. I found it hard to follow with the other characters save for maybe Brienne, but I'm very excited to see how it all comes together. If you're open to audiobooks, I'd recommend that format because it makes it much easier to digest the information dump.

Lots of Brienne and Jaime chapters. Dornish storyline is interesting, albeit incredibly slow.
