Overall, a good book, a few twist and turns I didn’t see coming, after all it starts off by telling you she’s a liar.

Dare I say it, this was better than We Were Liars. The characters were simpler, the story was stronger. It had gay people!!!!

I just enjoyed Carrie’s perspective and her feelings. Her struggles and her opinions. And I support her in crimes! Yes to killing that gremlin of a man! Ew!

I love the seeing ghosts/ still having conversations with your dead loved ones. Sometimes I wish this was real and that I was able to do it. I would love to tell mum about my life now and all that’s happened. The career I’ve built. The growth I have made as a person. The lessons I’ve learned from grief. Or I wish that she could tell me more. More about how she grew up.

Idk I loved this book. Couldn’t put it down! Had to finish the majority in this one sitting! I love reading!

I had high hopes for this one after loving the first novel. However for me it took far too long to get to the action and most of the good stuff happened 2/3's into the book. It was a real struggle to read at times, but I did enjoy the ending.

I really have no idea how I feel about this book. When I think of an aspect I like, I also think of a reason it wasn't great. I did enjoy it, but I did put the book down and complain multiple times (sorry Zoe)

Usually, e lockhart manages to make a very cringey concept into a unique and entertaining read. This wasn't bad, but definitely my least favourite.

The story was not relatable, considering it was about suuuuper old money rich people, but that doesn't bother me too much. It also didn't speak to me because the main character was willing so socialise a hell of a lot more than I've ever been and I could barely tell how well it was done because I can't imagine living like that. I do understand that's my fault, but I'm just giving reasons as to why I personally didn't enjoy it.

It did capture a teenage mind quite well, but I think e lockhart needs to stop writing so many teenagers. She did that in 'Genuine Fraud' and it was quite good, so I hoped she'd keep doing that. It's losing its quality and is just a little bit weird.

The plot was nothing special but I did like reading it just because it was someone's life. Oddly enough I enjoyed the quieter parts of the story more than the drama because I liked the little world she created with this family even if it is a bit cringey. Unfortunately, the plot twist was really similar to its predecessor (this book is a prequel) which I did kind of roll my eyes at, but I sort of saw that coming.

Overall, it's a decent read if you liked the first book but it doesn't appeal to me.
