This story starts with an angsty teen rebellion, but  Evangeline Bright is much more than that. She’s been expelled from 9 boarding schools over 6 years, her father is the King of England and her whole life she’s been King Alexander’s illegitimate secret. After her untimely dismissal from boarding school she’s going to England to meet her father for the first time in her memory. Evan/Evie/Evangeline must overcome many obstacles, personal and public, including a murder where she becomes the leading suspect. This story is  really good and I would definitely recommend.

The media and the family of the royal bastard gang up to make her life hell, but she gets through it. Once a potential love interest is killed, who is the killer, and who's trying to frame her?
This book was a good mix of dark/emotional and funny. I wish there were more of the fun parts and less of the dark and emotional parts. The book's first half felt more like a contemporary romance, but the second half was more of a thriller. I would have preferred less romance.
Overall a pretty good book that covered some hard topics. I really appreciated the compassion and understanding of the author for the mother who struggled with schizophrenia. I also liked that she made sure to have a part in there that corrected the assumptions of some of the general public that people with schizophrenia are violent, when in fact they're more likely to be the victim than the perpetrator of violence.

Royal Blood is a fast paced story with lots of twists and turns that hook you from the very first page. I wasn’t planning on reading this right away but I started reading it in the bookstore and just had to take it home with me. I loved almost every minute of it. They characters felt real, and the secrets we got to see were interesting.

A fairly solid teen drama with a bit of murder mystery.

While this is marketed as more of the murder mystery book with a hint of political intrigue, it’s the other way around. Not bad. But just not marketed correctly I feel.

Evan as a character was fun but I would’ve loved to see more of her snark.

I was surprised Maisie warmed up to her on the flip of a coin. But when you do something big to save someone’s but, I guess that happens.

The ending had me wondering what other secret Evan has. This book didn’t hint at anything so I’m completely in the dark on that.
