A perfectly twisty Christmas murder that includes kidnappings, jewel theft, and a raging blizzard!

Aggie and Hector are simply the best duo, and Lucy was a hoot and a half. I’m not a huge middle-grade reader, but these stories are fun and refreshing.

Content: mild language (1x d*mn; G*d’s teeth; G*d’s breath); veiled comment about men dallying with women

Imagine a young Agatha Christie, with a Belgian refugee best friend, Hector Perot, and a knitting Grannie Jane and transport them all to an English Manor House for Christmas. Add a blizzard, a traveling acting troupe, a visiting couple with a mysterious emerald and you get this adorable locked room mystery. Love all the references to Christie, Doyle, and WIlkie Collins-- starting with the body in the library, someone taking the 4:50 to Paddington, and Grannie Jane telling the story of a boy she knew when she was younger.

" A houseful of people trapped together with a murderer because of a snowstorm, or on an island, maybe. The guests are all invited to a weekend party because the host carries a grudge against each of them. And one by one they die horrible deaths, not knowing who to blame. . ."
" This host you describe is demented," said Hector.

Love this series! Looking forward to reading the next one.

Aggie and Hercule spend Christmas with her older sister and brother in law.  A troupe of players is hired to entertain and someone ends up murdered, a man goes missing, and a jewel disappears.  Aggie and Hercule once again put their heads together and solve the case.  Definitely fun.  Aggie and Hercule are delightful characters.
