The artwork, as expected, is lovely. Bantock has a semi-convincing villain in this story, but the action is punctuated by some lulls in conversation or character revelation. Still, this is a wonderful companion to the Griffin and Sabine saga.

I love this story and the art in these books. This one was no different. It was a treat to get one more to read.

This series has brought me such joy over the years, and I'm so happy to have finally read the final chapter. It will not be the last time I read these breathtaking, unique books.

Sadly, I didn't like it as much as the original trilogy. It got really metaphysical, which in and of itself wasn't a problem, but Griffin and Sabine's relationship no longer felt real to, the more dramatic they became about it. I thought the best part of this book was the final letter. But I'll always love the concept, the artwork, and the handwriting.

Winter 2021 (January);

I had to wait until the first trilogy of books in the [b:The Griffin & Sabine Trilogy: Griffen & Sabine/Sabine's Notebook/the Golden Mean|21528016|The Griffin & Sabine Trilogy Griffen & Sabine/Sabine's Notebook/the Golden Mean (3 Volumes - No Slipcase, 1, 2, 3)|Nick Bantock|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1395473779l/21528016._SX50_.jpg|49838] arrived to Julie before I let myself toss this one into my currently reading pile and then up into reviews.

I will always, always, always have a mad love for all things Griffin and Sabine. The whirl wind of romance, of reality versus surreality, of true deep longing for connection, of tasting forever deep that of traveling, and having it all recorded down in letters (of which I love the letters themselves, the art of of the differing pens, the differents of correspondences used, and whom all is writing whom).

I'm so glad to have this last chapter all warmly, cherishedly read, and tucked beside it's previous six books. I love, love, love, love this series and [a:Nick Bantock|28699|Nick Bantock|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1193528700p2/28699.jpg] forever.

Supposedly you can read this as its own story, but I'm not sure that's true. I rated it high for how it's told and for the beauty of the correspondence in it.
