Surprisingly pretty good. A few typos, and I didn’t really like the “girl” thing. I’m usually not a fan of 3rd POV, but it worked.

I'm in love!
Normally I'm nervous when I start new series, but not with Laylah Roberts. I have yet to be properly disappointed in a book from her and she continues to be my favourite comfort author.
This was no exception.
New series, same wonderful comfort and exciting action.
This one was a little lighter on the ageplay and heavier on the darkness, with the same incredibly loveable characters I've come to expect from this author. I immediately fell head over heels in love with the friend group of the FMC, and I cannot wait to hopefully get to know them all better - and their backstory.
So so so excited for more of this!

so pleased to get Grays story
I’d said in one of my Iron Shadows reviews that I’d love Grays story and this didn’t disappoint at all! I loved it.
Gray always came across as grumpy - or as Dahlia named him Grampy and that’s the only side we’ve ever really got to see. Early on in the book he still came across as cold, grumpy and detached so it was lovely to see an albeit only slightly softer side emerged as his relationship with Maeve developed.
Both Maeve and Gray are guilty of keeping large chunks of themselves hidden due to their pasts but as the story developed and they opened up they became more and more relatable. The introduction of Maeve’s friends added a great additional layer to the story including some comedic moments.
A great start to the series

This book was a solid four. If you like the grumpy/sunshine trope with light Age-Play then you will love this book. Laylah does grumpy/sunshine better than most contemporary authors today. This story may feel very familiar to a couple of her other books but it is like slipping on a comfortable pair of shoes. In addition, Ms. Roberts writes side characters so well that you as the reader feel like you need to know their stories as well and she does not disappoint in her new series.
