It has been about 2 weeks since I read this book, and I remember very little about it. Except that it was weird. Which kind of explains my rating in and of itself?
Skellig follows the story of a boy and his family who have just moved into a decrepit old house near Mina's (of prequel fame). He finds a weird bird-man living in the garage of the new house. His baby sister is sick.
And that's... pretty much it.
I really felt like I didn't get it? What was that weird bird man? Why was he lying in the garage? How does some Chinese food and aspirin heal him? How does he help the baby sister? The book was just confusing and kind of lackluster overall.
Also, it was boring? I mean, I summed up the plot in three sentences.
The redeeming factor is the main character and Mina. Their friendship was interesting. It was nice to see them become friends, see the main character struggle as his previous friends mock her, and see them grow together as a result of weird bird-man.
Also, the book was real short. Which helped.

Love this book! First read it when I was six and I've revisited about 6 times. This book gives me so much comfort and makes me so happy, the story is so enrapturing and draws me in every time!
