Well. I'm not really sure what happened. I absolutely loved the first two books. I rated them both an easy five stars. Maybe my expectations were too high going into this one. This book had quite a few problems that were not present in either predecessor. First, characters were introduced solely for shock value and plot advancement. They weren't developed, the relationships they had with others made no sense whatsoever, and when the time came for me to care about them, I didn't. Second, everything was rushed. About 3/4 of the way through, I was thinking to myself "there's no way this is the last book." The author introduces multiple plot elements halfway through -important elements!- and tries to neatly clean everything up in the last 25 pages. It's sad because the ideas were SO great. Another book focusing on the newly introduced items would have been extremely successful. I think the author was really trying to focus on keeping in line with Dante's Inferno cannon (which is a stunning idea overall) but in doing so neglected to give some things the time and description required to be successful. She seemed eager to wrap things up so it could fit neatly into a trilogy. It simply wasn't effective. I honestly can't give this more than 2 stars. I love the series overall, but honestly think I would have been just as happy to stop after the second book. I feel like I didn't really gain anything in the final installment.

Hell has to be full. That’s why all the dead are now walking the earth.
A satisfying conclusion to this trilogy. I really can't complain as the story follows the same plotline of the first two. I'm not a big fan of zombie apocalypse, I prefer my apocalypse to be more character driven, than running from zombies.

Overall, this series is an action packed, hope-you-didn't-like-that-character, fighting for survival, end with a hfn and hope for the future of those who managed to survive.

There is a love story here, but it doesn't take main stage. I think there was one tame intimate scene near the end.

Honestly, I liked it a lot.

Simple, yet the author brings in a new view of a zombie outbreak: after time, the zombie decay, animals returns to their natural wild instinct wich makes them as dangerous as the infected (and some are infected since they feed on zombie flesh).

It seems the author introduces new characters for no other reason than to die a horrible death.

description

I like zombie / post apocalypse fiction and for what it is, this series isn't bad. But it's not one of the better series' either.
