This book...I just can't get enough of it! I love how the story meanders and takes unexpected turns. In this book I particularly liked reading about Kvothe's break from University (though he went to visit a certain beautiful non-human, for some reason I just couldn't wait for him to get back to the 'real' world... I kept expecting him to be missing out on something). I really like how the pauses that return us to the present give rhythm to Kvothe's story. I find Denna's disposition to be a little irritating sometimes, but yet, the author keeps me feeling like she deserves a chance. Bast is also growing on me.

All I want to say about this book is this one quote, which spoke so clearly to me as an editor: "I'd heard he started a fistfight in one of the seedier local taverns because someone had insisted on saying the word 'utilize' instead of 'use.'"

What can even be said for such a book? Delightful. Delicious. Done.

So far I have to say I have little patience for a lot of this. It is a very long explanation of how a person came to power and manhood. It's a training montage. It's not a book I would have bothered with if the previous book hadn't been so much fun. I will get the next one from the library and curse that I spent so much on this one.
