There's some really mind bending weird shit in this one.

Upsetting, disturbing, and a little creepy, but what else would you expect from a Daredevil comic. Aside from a bit of melodrama, this is another excellent installment in Waid's Daredevil reboot.

After a fun and promising first three volumes of Waid's run, this volumes falls off a cliff. I feel like Mark Waid's bio pic for this trade should have him dressed as Wile E. Coyote holding a sign that says "Oops" as he plunges into The Grand Canyon.

After a mediocre Fantastic Voyage story where Ant-Man goes inside of Daredevil to restore his extra-sensory powers, Foggy Nelson dissolves the Nelson & Murdock Law Firm because he finds the bones of Matt Murdock's dad in Matt's desk drawer and is convinced Murdock has gone crazy.

Nothing about the Nelson storyline is believable.

1.) Foggy was a part of Murdock's adventures in the graveyard when an entire cemetary of corpses were stolen by Mole Man in the previous trade.

2.) Foggy has been Daredevil's friend for decades, there is no way he would jump to the conclusion that his friend was crazy, try and kill his career with the DA's office, and fire him without having a conversation. It's Way Out Of Character.

3.) The whole idea of someone planting Matt Murdock's father's bones in his desk for any reason is really stupid. Waid is better than this whole idea. It has the stink of a Todd Macfarlane Spawn story on it. If I were buying this in issue forms from a comic book store, I would have cancelled this book after that reveal.

We'll see if it's important to the rest of the Waid run, as there are several more volumes to go. I hope it isn't, though. There's almos nowhere for this story to go except up.

Too over the top to be great, but very good. Really it is the villain that is the problem - it's just too much. But watching Matt deal with what the world throws him, it's just done well. And the art continues to be amazing. And I think it ends with a run in with the Spectacular Spider-man.

This averages out to 3 stars. There were some "eh" moments, and some really good ones. It was hard for me to take Ant-Man and Spot/Coyote seriously, but I'm impressed by how Mark Waids keeps coming up with ways to creatively incorporate the special abilities DD has developed after losing his sight (e.g. body easily can function without his head). Unlike many others, probably, the strongest parts of this story arc, for me, were the personal ones. I enjoyed learning more about Matt Murdock's relationships, with his father, with Foggy, and with Milla. I'm eager to see where the story goes concerning Matt Murdock's potential mental instability, because, despite the fact that Matt/DD was tricked into looking and feeling crazy, it only made him look/feel more crazy that he is, and I think that it would be a strong progressive thread for the comic to explore Matt's depression, denial, social stigma of mental illness, and ultimately getting the help that he needs.

This one was a fun one! I liked that I got to see the Avengers show up for a bit a little crossover moment, this volume did stress me out a bit though because of the whole Nelson V. Murdock part I still havent recovered from that episode but the plot was good it was nice. I loved the art in this the end pages for each chapter are stunning they really outdo themselves each time.

I loved the art - the best part was how even when Matt is in his civilian wear, his shadow has little devil horns. Little details like this in the art made the comic so much more enjoyable! 10/10 the character design, coloring, and page layouts are fantastic. The writing is strange and although the stories are well-written for the most part some of the conflict feels even more ridiculous than the average superhero comic, which is saying something.
