A sweet story about a family working together to play the game they all love. It's hard to imagine a family this large, especially with all of the siblings getting along, but it really happened! Recommended to baseball lovers of all ages.

A feel-good story about the American pastime and a fantastic family of brothers who formed their own team. The rich, retro illustrations in bold colors are right up my alley.

Interesting nonfiction book about an all-brother baseball team from the 50's. Great example of how you never know where a research question might take you.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved this book! The story is accessible for my 3rd graders, but what I loved most was the old-timey feel of the illustrations. The nostalgia evoked from them fit perfectly with the time period in which the book was set, 1930s-1950s. A few quotes from the brothers are sprinkled throughout, and you can just hear each brother remembering back to the memory he is speaking of- very natural-sounding. I also loved the theme of family and togetherness, and the fact that the story spanned several generations.

Not being a baseball fan, I found this book really interesting. I never knew that there used to be all brother baseball teams. The idea of twelve brothers is amazing to me. I can't imagine having twelve sons and four daughters!

Crazy! I never knew there were so many all-brother baseball leagues from the 1860's to 1940's...29 total! This is a book that will keep your mouth open with the amazingness of the way that this family bonded through baseball!
