I grew up on the movie from the 80's so I'm trying to work through the books. Surprisingly so far the tv series is the best of all of them. And Enid is still annoying.

The second book in this series, and Mildred strikes again.

I must say, that I really disliked the new girl and also Maud. I thought Maud was Mildred's best friend, but as soon as Mildred has a job to do, she gets jealous and runs off to the meanest girl in the school, Ethel. I really wanted to smack Maud through the book.

Then we have Enid, who seemed like a good girl, but is actually even worse than Mildred. Not only in being a witch, but also with getting in trouble.

Poor Mildred, doing her best to do well at school, only to get in trouble for something she didn't do. :(

But all in all, it was a fun book, because like the previous book, Mildred does something awesome and it is all good. And of course, who can resist a good detailed story and lovely illustrations.

The tale of Mildred Hubble who gets into bother at every turn whether that’s in broom flying class, potion brewing or training her kitten at Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches. A KEY STAGE 2 book first published in the 1970’s however is still popular today, this is the second book in a kids series. It is a really good starting point for young readers who want to get into fantasy fiction! Very short and sweet with lovely illustrations.

I love this series of books and they totally remind me of my childhood but telling a child they're giving up on them after in the previous book they saved the WHOLE school seems a tad unfair.
