I struggled with this one because I really wanted to like it and all of the elements were there but I just found myself going back and forth on whether I liked it until the end. I didn't really come up with a verdict even then. What I liked: queer characters, gender nonconforming characters, found family, heists and associated antics, loyalty and strong bonds between the characters. What I didn't like: the "voice" of every character was exactly the same, rapid shifts in POV and since the characters didn't have distinct voices it was incredibly hard to tell when these shifts happened, long drawn out action scenes, characters with little motivation beyond "this character is bad" or "this character had a hard life". It was also over 400 pages which felt a bit too long for this story to me. I didn't really enjoy this book overall, but I did finish reading it and I didn't dislike it. "It was okay" probably sums up my opinion.

A fun and funny heist story. Unfortunately, this does get a bit lengthy and the book suffers as a result.

I received an ecopy of this through netgalley; however all opinions are my own.

Really fun! A little slow in the beginning, but once you’re in, you’re in. Who doesn’t want to read a book about jewel thieving drag queens?

I love the writing but I'm not sure I liked the jewel thief/heist/socialite/revenge story as much as I wanted to. It was slow to keep my attention but about 3/4 of the way in, I was finally all in.

Really fun book that is a combination of a thriller and realistic YA fiction. It’s long and could use some editing and really dragged on in places, although I also have been reading it out loud a chapter at a time since June.

A fun, thrilling romp with high school drag queens and accidental espionage.
