While I think this book tries to cover too much ground, it's very accessible, succinct and did a great job re-framing how we as a society should view the concept of "health" and "illness" under capitalism, and how it's quest for more profits and commodification of private healthcare lead to so many unnecessary deaths.

“…capital has both shaped heath and shaped itself around health. In the process, one of capital’s most critical vulnerabilities has been left in plain sight. It is therefore necessary to sever the ties between health and capital.”

This book was really interesting. I didn’t Expect the history of the SPK but it was great to learn about nevertheless - will definitely be listening to their podcast. An important book (if slightly hard to read at times)

so dense it took me 5 months to read, but this book tore my brain apart with its intelligence and critical thinking about disability justice under late stage capitalism.
