pretty good. got for free on kindle so well worth it in my opinion. kait is funny, if not overly enthusiastic at times. ethan is definitely character crush worthy, and the plot actually kept me guessing the whole time. i did guess the ending, but then i changed my mind and was surprised at the end. light and fun, this definitely gave me a pick me up from some more intense reads ive been going for recently. check it out while its still free on amazon :)

have to admit, I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style in the beginning but it eventually grew on me. It flowed really nicely and made it a quick read.

I love that the main characters name is similar to mine, Kait! She is kind of a loser in school. She is also considered a freak by some, like her ex-best friend April, because likes to funeral crash for fun.

At one funeral she runs into Riley, the hottest guy from school. It turns out his sister died. Riley thinks she's been murdered. He ends up enlisting Kait to help him find out who did it.

It's a cute story that follows Kait and Riley through their own murder investigation. I really enjoyed watching the relationship between them blossom.

If you're looking for a cute, quick YA read then I would recommend this!

Kait has a habit of crashing funerals and crashing one of a victim of a herion OD leaves Kait face to face with Ethan the most popular guy at school, who also thinks the victim, his sister, was murdered. Intrigued, Kait offers to help Ethan figure out the truth.

Now the story is super cute in a Veronica Mars kind of way, but if Veronica Mars was annoyingly focused on hot, popular boys and not very funny. Kait just can't let it drop that she's hanging out with the most popular guy in school. I swear she thinks about that more than she does the murder case she's supposed to be on. It's really annoying, especially at first and had me skimming the first few chapters. Between that and the copious editing issues, I almost put it down, but didn't and In the end, I actually kind of liked it. It's book one in a series and if the editing had been better or Kait less annoying I'd continue the series, but the only way that is happening is if the books are free. I wouldn't recommend the book, but I wouldn't not recommend it either. It's just kind of a blah book, which is sad because it had so much potential.

Very unconventional mystery. A teenage girl likes to crash funerals and while she is at a college girl's funeral, Kait stumbles onto a potential serial killer situation. This book is also full of typical teenage angst and puppy-dog love and crushes. It also contains one of my biggest pet peeves. It had a little “She’s eating a salad. I’m a ‘real’ girl, I’m eating a burger” moment. As always, I don’t find these necessary. It was a fun read all in all.

Cute and fun

This story was simple and kind of predictable, but the writer did a great job of making me feel like I was really inside the head of the protagonist. I think a lot of teens will see themselves in her quirkiness and self-doubt and relate to her problems with back-stabbing friends and unattainable boys.

I really liked this book. It was a really cute romance, with quirky characters and a serial killer thrown in. I kinda called who the killer was. Sorta.

What a surprisingly good read!

Been some time since I read any YA. This was cute, but rather predictable. This won't be getting any literary merits, but it was nice to read this. Managed to finish in one night. The title is sort of misleading though, as there was really only 2 funeral crashing acts told. Had a lot of potential in exploring why the heroin adopted the particular habit, but all inclinations of that just simply disappeared, which was kind of sad, really...

Not terrible,just too young

I do enjoy books geared for a younger audience sometimes. I don't think this book is terrible, just I was the wrong audience. It definitely might interest a middle or high schooler though. It defiantly had its shining gems like the fun girl who crashes funerals. Kind of weird and if she were real I would recommend therapy to deal with losing her mother. Cute enough premise for a book though. Definitely well thought our idea.

I'm a high school English teacher, so I read a lot of young adult books to stay abreast on what's out there, find things to recommend to students, have books for my class library, and look for things to teach that will interest students. Having said that, I found this book completely enjoyable. It's a simple story, unpopular girl likes popular boy and they're flung together (much to her enjoyment)when she crashes his sister's funeral.
Most YA fiction tends to fall into the "tragedy of the week" area dealing with drugs, teen pregnancy, death, sexuality, etc. etc. and ends up being rather dreary. This was refreshing because although it does deal with drugs and death, it's light and funny and doesn't take itself to seriously.
I would recommend this to my students and all YA readers. The only issues I have with it are that it was too short, and the climax was a bit contrived and too soon. The main characters were finally on the right path to find the murderer and BAM! we're thrown into the middle of the climax, everything is revealed and the story is over. However as a light romance and mystery this was a well written and fun little book!
It's a definite read, and I'm glad I got to read and review a copy on R2R (for free) so thanks Goodreads and Milda Harris!
