My heart is currently being squeeze by Melissa Roehrich’s talented fist. Sobbing, crying, laughing, and scratching at the door. This series is so good I’m feral

What is with these books and their endings?! Damn. I’m obsessed with how much Scarlett has grown into herself. I think some of the spicy scenes felt a bit disjointed from the plot BUT who am I to judge. Overall, such an entertaining, interesting novel. I’m looking forward to starting the third tomorrow.

I tried. I really did. I wanted to get into these books so much. I finished this one and gave them another chance, but I could not get into them. They weren’t bad at all. Just…I don’t even know. It’s probably the audiobook that I listened to, though I really enjoyed the voice actors. Or maybe it’s a fantasy slump. But I didn’t care for the characters. I didn’t care what happened to them or what came next. Maybe I will read the books some day and give them another chance when I am
In a different head space. For now, I am not continuing the series.

SCARLETT IS SOOO ANNOYING. I DON'T KNOW HOW I CAN PUT UP WITH THIS BOOK THIS FARRR OH MY GODDD. MORE ANNOYING WHILE LISTENING TO THE AUDIOBOOK!! GOSHH (btw not a slander to the narrator, i like her voice)

Although I liked this a little less than the first one, I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
I think the main reason for that is that it reminds me SO MUCH of Throne of Glass - my favorite series. Especially the characters are very similar in several regards (there pretty much is an Aelin, a Rowan and a Dorian). There were a couple of reveals in this that I didn’t necessarily predict and there are many mysteries left unsolved so I am excited to continue (although I’m a little nervous the next books might fall short…).
🌶🌶🌶.5

This book was so similar to ACOMAF, so thankfully I like that book! I did think the relationship is pretty weak still and jumped about 100 steps from where they were in book 1. But I am excited to see where we go from here and I will be continuing.
