Felt predictable, a lot of phrases repeated a lot which annoyed me. Aldi version of ACOTAR. Also decided she loved Sorin and married him in about 1 second.

Felt repetitive at times....drawn out arguments, etc. Kind of a slog to get through the first like 60% and then ofc tons of reveals/twists happening at the end to where I'll probably continue to read the series lol. Wouldn't move to top of my tbr just yet though.

First half of the book was a 4 star, second half a 4.5 which did manage to hold more weight for me in the overall 4.4, but still rounding down for StoryGraph to the 4.25
Lots of “filler” to develop the romance which is fine if I was reading a simple romance book but it sort of dragged the plot in a book like this for my personal taste. It was clear the author wanted to make sure their relationship felt full enough for their actions to feel earned, and it at least did that job despite it making the book a bit too slow at the same time for me. It finally picked up and got the plot moving along enough to pull me back in though, so I’m quickly moving into the next book
