Burn the Negative is Josh Winning's second novel and one that was an instant purchase for me after loving his debut novel, The Shadow Glass.

This reads like a horror thriller with its roots set around a potentially cursed movie from the 90s. I was sold on its premise but unfortunately found that it got a little flat and lost in the delivery.

I've been thinking about this one for a few days now since finishing it and I can't say what it is that I didn't like as Winning is a damn good writer. The suspense element to the story is perfect but the horror side of things just didn't spark with me. I also struggled throughout to decide whether this was supernatural or whether it was going to go all Scooby Doo at the end.

I'll leave you to read it and decide on that for yourself as this is in no way a bad book, it just didn't pull me in as much as his debut did.
