The Best of: Memento Mori, Part Three (Gamora #3)

1. Gamora totally not having a good day. "You know those days you wake up to find Doomsday cultists about to sacrifice you in hopes of staving off the black hole that's about to absorb their planet? Yeah... I've had better mornings."

2. This heartbreaking confession from Gamora. "I don't want to live, but I have to... Just a bit longer... Long enough to hunt down the last living member of the Badoon royal dynasty, and put a final end to their corrupt legacy."

3. How Gamora does not want your thanks ever. "You have my thanks." "Keep your thanks- I'll keep the axe."

4. The old man who's raised L'Wit (Harly?) and how much he loves her. How he wants nothing more for her to have a better life.

5. Gamora's explanation of why she is so devoted to her mission of killing the princess. "Some might think me mad to exchange my life, just for the chance to see hers end. But vengeance has its own logic. A blood-debt of this magnitude of this magnitude weighs on everything you do. Like interest, it compounds over the years. And it is worth more to me now than my own life ever was.:

6. Gamora having to decide if it's worth killing an innocent to avenge her people. It just kills me, this scene. And this line in particular: "But there's nothing personal about genocide."

7. Gamora acknowledging that what she is doing and what has been done to her is not fair. "I've done nothing to you. It's not fair." "You're right. It's not. Just like it wasn't fair that I lived, when my entire race died. It's not fair that Thanos turned me into what I am- good for only killing. None of it is fair. But at least it's finished."

8. L'Wit being faced with this women who is trying to kill her and reacting with sympathy and compassion. "Sounds like it's not me you want to kill- but yourself. I'm sorry for all that has happened to you. And you're right to demand justice."

9. Holy heck of a plot twist that I did not see coming and will not even put a spoiler to because you should read it for yourself.

10. Another really beautiful cover by Esad Ribic in the same sort of watercolor style I have come to love.
