A long, slow book that somehow compels one to turn the page. The final act felt like it took ages to read and at the same time was over too quickly. A very rewarding read.

Really could not get into this book. Infuriating that 4.5 hours in, there is not a single female character that gets more than a passing mention as someone’s wife. And weird nonchalant racism.
