Audible. Enjoy this series although this one took a while and got convoluted at the end.

This is definitely a transition book. It lacks the desperation and raw emotion of the first, and there's no clear reason for Gwen to be doing what she's doing in this one except strictly as a way to move the story into full series territory.

That said, while the first 100 pages of this dragged and the plot was a bit...convenient...I did very much enjoy this. I always love Gwen being her badass self, her kids are really starting to grow into themselves, and Sam!!! I'm glad to see the last of the secrets ripped away from their relationship, and glad it didn't break them. I really love Sam Cade.

Not my favorite book, but still managed to leave me hungry for the next installment!

4 Stars!!

The truth is out and Gina's husband is dead, you'd think that would be the end of most of Ginas problems but it's not. I suppose I should call her Gwen now as she legally changed her name.

I enjoyed getting more of Gwen and Sam's relationship in this one. I really like Sam but I can understand Gwens reluctance to get serious with someone after everything she has been through.

When Gwen gets a call for help from a young girl her daughters age, she feels obliged to go and check things out. Just like in the previous book, the further into the investigations they get the more questions come up and there is always so many twists.

I love this series! I did find this one a little slower than the others as Gwen tries to figure out her life now that Melvin is dead. It was still a very good read that kept me on edge all the way through. This author sure came up with some twisted characters.

This is the third, and hopefully final, installment of the Stillhouse Lake story.

Even though Gwen Proctor escaped her serial-killer ex-husband and saved her family, she can’t seem to outrun the notoriety that comes with that. Especially the internet vigilantes still seeking to avenge his crimes. Trying to create a normal life for her kids, Gwen can no longer hide like she has been.

Marlene Crockett, from the remote town of Wolfhunter, reached out to Gwen because she is worried about herself and her daughter. When Gwen arrives in the small, isolated, rural community, Marlene is already dead and her daughter is the alleged murderer. Gwen knows that’s not the person Marlene feared at all. Gwen plans to stick around until she finds out who that was.

Gwen's stalkers are closing in, and she soon realizes that a trap has been set for her in Wolfhunter. Unfortunately, for Gwen and everyone she loves, it's easy for people to hide in Wolfhunter.

This was probably my least favorite of the Stillhouse Lake stories. I think it's time for Rachel to put Gwen Proctor and her family to rest. I feel like her story has reached its end. This one was a huge leap in her abilities. I get that she was on the run and had to hide from her serial killer husband and everyone who thought she was his accomplice, but her superwoman skills are a bit unbelievable.

This one has entirely too much going on. Lots of new characters for no reason. I’m still not in love with the whole Gwen and Sam pairing, but I guess I’ll have to suffer though that since I’d to see what the next book has in store.

i just finished wolfhunter river by rachel caine, and it was a great read. the characters have really evolved since the first book, and i find myself more invested in them than ever. the storyline kept me hooked, with enough twists to keep me guessing throughout.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! I know people weren't crazy about the shifting pov, but I listened to the audiobook, and it has different readers. It was very well done.
