This is the third book in the Stillhouse Lake series. You'd need to have read the first two books in this series to read this one, and it's just more of the same. You can tell that this book is clearly transitioning the series in a different direction since Melvin died in the last book. It's solid enough, but there's no overall direction (yet), so it'll be interesting to see how the next book goes. The relationship trouble between Sam and Gwen felt a little forced, and I'm not thrilled it ended a bit unresolved, but I'm still sold enough to definitely pick up the next book.

This third book in the Stillhouse Lake series was definitely a page turner! After the death of Mel in the previous book, I wondered what would happen to continue the series <\spoiler>. I have to say, I really liked the way Rachel Caine continued to tie in the original storyline while expanding the world Gwen and her family explore. I’m excited for the next book!

Really excellent. I think this was the best one yet.
Gwen, Sam, and Gwen’s children Connor and Lannie are still being harassed by the internet trolls who believe that Gwen was a willing participant in her serial killer ex-husband’s torture and murder of several young women.
Gwen has agreed to go on a talk television show, having been convinced that she would at least be allowed to tell her side of the story, but she has been lied to, and she ends up running from the studio.
Once home, she receives a call from a stranger, a woman asking her for help and advice, saying she got her contact information on a chat board from someone she had helped in the past.
Things move in a breakneck speed from here. The book was great, and makes me hope for subsequent ones. The ending seems to portend that.
I received this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Another phenomenal installment in this chilling series. I'm not usually a big fan of series, but I make exceptions for really good ones. This is one of those.
It's not my favorite plot of the three I've read, but it kept me guessing and on edge the entire time, as usual! 4 solid stars.

I had the audiobook read by Laureen Exxon, Will Ropp, Emily Sutton -Smith,Dan John Miller
It’s good to see narrators from the previous book with only one change. It adds to the continuity of the series.
Gwen had escaped her serial killer husband, but it’s harder to escape the internet vigilantes. A threatened woman Marlene Crockett had reached out from a remote rural town. When Gwen arrives she is already dead with her daughter blamed.
Another action packed amateur sleuth crime thriller.
I enjoyed it, it feels like Gwen is on a mission to save the world one person at a time.
I’m not sure if my slightly lower rating for this one is reflective on getting a bit of author fatigue, I’m listened to the 3 in close succession.
