Wolfhunter River

The first half of this book felt like more of the same, a complaint I already had with book two. However, the second half switched things up enough to hold my interest. It still runs the problem of shows like Nip/Tuck, where it does not feel plausible for one family to run into so many tragic events.

Probably my least favorite from this series and the reason is pretty obvious. There was zero need for a third book. Killmen Creek wrapped up the story and tied all the loose ends. This book was just meant for the purpose of milking the popularity of the series. The whole new plot around Wolfhunter River was so off track from the Proctor family storyline that I couldn't really invest in any of the new characters. The story felt a bit dragged and way too stretched. Nonetheless, considering the first two books, it was a really good series. Rachel Caine retained her immaculate writing skills, i'll give her that.

I think this was the weakest book so far and that's a shame. It was pretty predictable but also the story was really random. I hope Caine can pull things back together for the 4th book. This one was worth reading but it just wasn't as addicting as the first book.

Wow, this book was so freaking fantastic, I loved this mystery, and wow, did that ending get intense!

I’m really digging this series. Full review coming.
