My favourite one of the “series” so far.

Reading about Cecily’s trauma reminds me of my SA, especially the way it affects her in the present.

Jeremy’s accounts of how she acts is pretty similar to me, like “She’s zoning out—or more accurately, dissociating.” But it’s an interesting perspective to see it from.

His obsession with Cecily originally made me cringe, but there were some good lines. Some of my favourite:

- I knew you’d taste like my new favorite meal.

- She’s the gray. She’s the colors. She’s every rainbow I never thought to stop and watch.

- I’d rather be smashed and broken to pieces with you than be whole without you. I’d rather remain a beast for you than become a man who has to survive without you.

Also, Cecily talking about her SA with her mom tugged at my heart, because I couldn’t imagine having the courage to have that conversation.

Again, another little rollercoaster of a book, but less than the last one. Oh, and I think I like Jeremy more now.
