I put this book down for a while, which is unlike me when I really like a book. I don’t know how to feel about the kismet meeting orchestrated by a non-living brother plotline. There was something missing from that, undeveloped. I do like the characters though. The family dynamic is exactly what I’d expect out of a black family. A hard-headed dad, loving mother, friendly siblings, and rich history. Some parts were corny but I can overlook that. And the spicy scenes were more mild. Nonetheless, it earned its rating.

Initial Response: 4/5; Recommend?: 3/5; Re-Readability: 2/5 Characters: 4/5; Plot: 3/5
Overall: 3.2/5
Would Purchase?: Yes

I went into this book completely blind . I honestly thought it was a werewolf book I don’t know why . Christina C Jones will always be one of my favorite authors . The way she cultivates a story and has you rooting for the characters, really being apart of their journey. I could cry . The grief , the love , the healing . It was all so beautiful definitely one of my favorite books I’ve read from her . I want a Laken

I love him…I mean them lol. Laken is everything. One thing about Christina C Jones, she can write a man for you to love. I just made my goal for 2023 to finish reading her whole catalog. I know it won’t disappoint
