Bronson Pinchot as the store catalog and Tai Sammons narrating bring you inside Orsk, an Ikea knockoff straight from the midwest. The book quietly addresses assumptions while also bringing a dusk-till-dawn style horror. The story stays with you and you get into it. The characterizations and premise are solid, even while the story is an old one from a thematic horror standpoint.
I listened to the audio book, so I remember the actors voices as they narrated even while remembering the story.

This was so boring and wildly lackluster. Kinda wish I DNFed it.
Graphic: Gore and Blood
Moderate: Body horror, Confinement, Sexual content, and Torture
Minor: Excrement and Alcohol

It was an alright read. I didn't really start getting into the story until
About halfway through.
-working retail is the real nightmare
- if you've ever been in an IKEA you'll get it.
- RUTHANNE AND HER EYES. That part gagged me no lie.
-unique story idea
-beginning was a slow

4.5 ⭐️ but i rounded up bc i‘m nice like that
this was the first grady hendrix book i have read, and i can guarantee that i will be working my way through all of them in time.
i wouldn’t say that i found this particularly scary (which says a lot because im a BABY when it comes to supernatural horror) but i thought it was such a fun read with the right amount of OH DAMN and such wonderfully stereotypical characters that you could easily grow to love (or at least be annoyed at, which is just about as good).
the entire idea was so absurd and so fun and so wonderfully executed, would absolutely recommend this even to people that want nothing to do with horror.
