One of the better runs. I think one more issue, and flushing out the terminal decision at the end would have made this an easy 5/5. Still I give the 5 because the conclusion shows you why this team has a license to kill, and that everything isn't always sunshine and rainbows.
I'm for redemption, but the X-Force is full of killers for a reason

I'm reading these as individual issues of Uncanny X-Force, on the recommendation of a friend, so I may have missed the Wolverine: Road to Hell bit collected in this trade, but so far I'm liking the tone and the art quite a bit.

That was quite a ride. A grimmer group of mutants who apparently take on the jobs the X-Men cannot/will not do. Even the jokes were darker.

X-Force fights Apocalypse on the moon. Deadpool feeds Angel his flesh, cause he’s very hungry. It’s gross. I don’t understand why anyone keeps writing Fantomex.

The previous X-Force run where Cyclops had Wolverine lead a team of mercenary X-people to tackle quests that were too edgy for the regular team, was visually ugly, mostly due to the muddy coloring that seemed editorially mandated. Reading it was a chore.

Remender's reassembled team manages to keep the morally dark aesthetic but inject it with some fun and better fleshed out characters.

This was my favorite X-book when it was coming out, and I enjoyed it just as much on this reread.

I liked bits of this one including conversations between Logan and the thief. But in general there was just too much fighting and too little plot/dialogue. And it had Deadpool which is never a good thing. And Psylocke, which is almost never a good thing. So not bad, but not all that good either.
