The art in this book is impressive. It is so detailed, and I regularly found myself thinking about how much time it must have taken to get to the finished product. I thought the world was pretty interesting and I am interested in reading more. It was a bit gory for my taste, and I didn’t care for the reflections on cat poets at the end of each section. But overall I enjoyed reading it
The first 5 books were fun, but not fun enough to make me want to read the next 13 in this book and the next 25 or so in the series

An exquisite series; I docked a star for feeling a bit lost in the middle of the volumes— there are so many people after maika that I began to lose sight of what any overarching goal was
the characters are wonderful, the art is a treat for the eyes, and the world building is so so rich.

such a beautiful & compelling story. I have trouble with understanding some of the systems in high fantasy, so I’ll definitely need to reread this, but the magic and monsters are so unique!
every single page is breathtaking. the textures, character design, and creature/god/monster designs are all so gorgeous. I often lingered after finishing the text on the panel to zoom in and absorb every minute detail.
also, this has some really great disability rep & the steampunk mobility aids are awesome!
