Although the book has many editions and most are directed to interpret the strategies of war to modern day jobs and social life, with the use of commentaries and explanations provided, however, the original short version provides much more concentrate lessons that one wouldn’t only link to specific fields but rather view as a general idea of approach.
The philosophy behind the book remains full of wisdom, with and without discrimination based on abilities and limited human capabilities. Even after so many years one can still follow the highlighted advices from it.

I’ve had this free book on my Kindle since 2016, and if I hadn’t chosen it as part of a book challenge, it sadly might have gone unread. I can’t believe how powerful it was having been written over 2500 years ago! I know it’s undergone translation into many different languages over that time period, but this version is an absolutely amazing treatise into the thought behind war back then. I had always heard how influential this book is, which is why I downloaded it in the first place. But I really don’t have any interest in war, so hadn’t ever got around to reading it. It’s so simple, yet this man was possibly the first person to write down all of these concepts. He seems to have been very wise overall. I might have to look up a biography about him! Modern warfare is more computer-based these days, but I can see where everything he says is still relevant. He doesn’t talk just about physical maneuvers as much as he goes into the psychology involved in the entire war. I found this book easy to understand and actually enjoyed it!

The Art of War is almost what is acclaimed of it, a book of concise wisdom that has aspects which are both timeless and not confined to only warfare.
Sun Tzu regards the greatest victory to be that which is achieved by little or no actual conflict, the victor according to him ascertains victory before fighting a battle and not after it, he ascribes great value to espionage and knowing the strength both mental and physical of your enemy, along with knowing thyself and your men, while laying out strategies for every circumstances he lays great emphasis on being dynamic and flexible.
A true timeless masterpiece if not for the overhype created around it.
