Really just not a fan. The writing was good but there were a million plot lines to follow. Ending also made no sense
I've found my favorite book of 2021. I couldn't stop reading, finding myself even using the flashlight on my phone to read after everyone went to bed. I loved this book.
I really liked it, until the end. and the epilogue? made me hate it. what a joke. why can’t authors have good endings anymore?
Characters are so dumb. Awful. So much potential. 1/10
Blah. What a truly awful book. I liked no one. I didn’t care who died. It was depressing, boring and way too long.
I definitely wouldn't consider myself a thriller connoisseur. But, I really did enjoy and engage with this one! First of all, I listened to the audio and the narrator was a pitch perfect match for the atmosphere of the story. With a terrific setting--a sanatorium turned hotel, high up in the Swiss Alps (one of my top five travel destinations!)--this book was written to be read in winter. It's what I've come to understand as a 'locked-door mystery' as in "everyone's trapped and people keep dying...the killer is among us!" Like, Agatha Christie style. I recommend this one wholeheartedly as a binge read, especially sitting near a window as the snow is falling.
As I neared the end of the book, I became more and more eager to learn what would happen next. The author is very clever in that her chapters are short and each one ends on a bit of a cliff hanger making it hard to stop.
This whodunit boasts great plot, stunning setting, intriguing history, and adequate suspense. Though, readers looking for a character-driven story should look elsewhere.

The very end was a little “meh” for me. But I was super sucked in and it kept me guessing. Overall, a solid thriller.

Hard to believe that a UK detective can be so inept. Her stupidity was really distracting and no interesting suspects made the story boring. She mentions snow continuously- in case you forget that the story takes place in Switzerland during the winter.
