First book of the year, starting off with a book I’ve meant to read for a long time and one where my boyfriend just wants to watch the show and I wouldn’t without reading this so I read it!
I honestly am a little stuck with how I felt about this. I felt pretty indifferent to a lot of it. It’s disturbingly how something like this could be reality in someways when you think about it.
It’s such a short book, and like it took me forever to read because it was sooo slow going. That got to me. Also how conversations when she’s talking about something happened, not having quotations was weird.
I’m excited to watch the show though because everyone raves about it and I feel like this might be the instance where the show is better than the book for me off a feeling since I feel so weird about the book. Everyone raves about the book and I feel like I must be missing something.
I’m not sure. I’m glad I saw reviews say read the historical notes because they’re important context with the world building and everything because I’ll agree with them there. I think I might still try the Testaments and other things by Margaret Atwood.

Should reread
Listened to this book on Audible (read it the first time though) and I think it’s no surprise what this book is about. If I did not watch the show and have that context, this book might have been all over the place. I just wanted a refresher before I read/listened to the sequel.
