This is definitely a YA slasher/thriller, in that it felt very young to me. Maybe it’s just campy? Very dramatic on the “He’s over there!! -everyone rush to the window!” “Oh no a dead body!”
The atmosphere was good but it almost felt like a debut the way it was written, sometimes I wouldn’t know who was in the room and they’d pop out of nowhere when they spoke. Don’t get me started on the plot holes. And I felt like the main character constantly having a crush on 2…3? (Honestly I couldn’t tell them apart) of the guys was more detracting from the story than anything else, just because a group of teens get together doesn’t mean they have to want to pair up.
Very “current” with the amount of time spent talking about TikTok and influencers and that’s really going to date it in a few years.
Over all it wasn’t awful. I kinda felt like I was reading a Scooby-Doo movie though.

This book got me hooked pretty much from the beginning. I definitely had no idea where it was going and the two plot twists and different people being accused kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Definitely a good read!!
