This book took a turn that was unexpected to me. I wanted to see more of how the Sainnites and Shaftali could make peace together, but the book focuses on a more magical journey to answer a different question.

Poignant and enchanting as the other two books. At a couple of points, I almost cried. As for the characters, I hope Seth features in the next book just as much. I also was a bit disappointed at how little Emil and Medric featured. Zanja broke my heart, as usual, but I'm glad she and Karis had some happiness. I found Water Logic didn't drag as much as the second book, Earth Logic. However, the ending and plot felt a bit unfinished. Perhaps that is because there is one more book to go? Perhaps it is because I am not used to the shifting water logic. ;)

PS: The cow dogs are totally corgis, right? I love them so very much.

Heart breaking, but also all the wounds are healed. There are a few things that didn’t make a lot of sense but it was still quite good.

Absolutely one of my favorite books.
The depiction of Clement’s shadow/ horror as so alive, intentional and lurking captures how it feels to live with an intense trauma. Marks captures the true isolation that Zanja experiences in the past, and her contrast of that with the possibility of seeing her people alive is heartbreaking. Despite these possibilities, e see Zanja choose integrity again and again.

Absolutely love these books, it’s hard to put them down. The characters and the story are so compelling.. and it is so grippingly beautiful, raw and painful.

While I continue to enjoy this series, I didn't find this book worked for me.

I liked the scenes with Zanya 200 years in the past and wish we'd had more of them, and enjoyed the twisty and illogical ways the time travel affected history/the present. I found the deaths of
Mabin & Saleen
to be jarringly unexpected, removed some interesting characters, and the fallout from that was initially interesting but
wrapped up with water magic and seemingly no further consequences?
. I also want to see Karis get to do more! It seem she's always being held back against her nature, or making rash decisions everyone else has to scramble to support. (maybe that's the point, and I'm missing it?)

Still looking forward to Air Logic.
