Reacher walks into a blast from his past that he was pretty sure was dead and in the midst of tracking this guy down gets tangled up with an undercover FBI investigation.
Your usual Reacher recipe of action/thriller delivering everything a Reacher novel usually does, I think I'm going to have to start pacing myself a little better with these before I burn myself out with the predictability of the storylines because they are usually entertaining.

Another good Reacher book. Some sad parts but definitely gives drive to why he’s doing what he’s doing. Cleverly paced book that keeps you wanting more.

I read about one Jack Reacher novel every other year or so, never in order, not that it seems to be a problem. I'm not sure that his character really grows. I'm kind of fascinated by his odd lifestyle, but he sure does leave a body count everywhere he goes. This one he's trying to save an undercover DEA agent and goes undercover himself, with an elaborate fake kidnapping plot. It's all OK, you get what you expect, and of course Jack comes out on top.

Its the first of the Jack Reacher novels I read, and overall I'm neither overly impressed nor unimpressed. The writing was good. The story itself was intriguing, though some of the flashback scenes were a tad on the annoying side. I had no doubt about what the overall outcome would be, it was just a matter of getting there. Still, not a bad read for something I would consider a little on the lighter side of things. Don't be fooled though - lighter does not mean it didn't have its share of violence.
