I was curious to read this book because I'm not a fan of structured/organized religion. If you don't already have a lot of background knowledge about the Bible and/or Christianity then you're going to miss a lot of references. This book didn't teach me anything new or provide additional insight. Rather, it was just a rambling list of reminders to adapt life habits that help keep an open mind and slow down from the busyness of life.

This spoke to me a lot more than my previous foray into reading about spirituality, though it started to lose me toward the end. (I'll take spirituality without the near-mystical dream interpretation, thanks.) It also bothered me that, in advocating finding your own approach, Moore seemed really set on his own way as the best way. Still, it's an interesting read.

The language in this book really put me off. I enjoyed the beginning but I found it difficult to relate to some of the concepts. Further, there's a whole chapter on how sex is a crucial part of one's own religion, and as someone on the ace spectrum, that was off-putting and unrelatable as well.
