Listening to the audiobook was interesting because it included "produced" episodes of the Guilty or Not Guilty podcast produced throughout the story. Not sure that was a good addition to the book, though...I didn't like the podcast and it soured my view of Rachel. The dual crimes years apart trope was executed well enough, with a suitable twist to be enjoyable, but it wasn't the most elegant.

This was great!! Definitely wasn't going into this expecting to be blown away but I was pleasantly surprised. This follows our main character Rachel as she is heading into season 3 of her popular crime podcast where she follows different cases, however this will be the first time she will be following an active case and the case she chooses is a highly publicized rape trial in a small town. While she is in the middle of this whirlwind of a case, someone has been following her leaving notes asking for her help with a murder case that took place 25 years ago and might involve some people in the very town Rachel is currently staying in...This book was very fast paced and there was never a dull moment. This book touched on a lot of hard topics such as rape, sexual assault, bullying, intimidation and abuse of power, but I felt this author handled these topics with care and they made sense for the story and weren't just thrown in. I listened to this on audiobook which I would recommend because since this has a podcast element, it does feel like a podcast at certain points in the audiobook which added to the enjoyment. I really felt for the characters in this story. At times this was hard for me to listen to. I was angry, sad, mad, shocked, emotions were just all over the place and that is what I want out of a story. I loved this!! Can't wait to pick something else up by this author.
