This was fine, I guess. I liked the podcast element, especially as part of the audiobook, but it felt pretty unrealistic- the level of fame that Rachel was supposed to have as a podcaster was a little goofy, as was the idea that her show was known for being super unbiased and showing both sides of the story but also known for having her off-the-cuff personal commentary? like these things don't usually go together well? Also the fact that she decided to cover a trial, traveled to the town the trial is in as the only person from the podcast and then LEFT THE COURTROOM in the MIDDLE OF TESTIMONY MULTIPLE TIMES!?!? Like what?! how are you gonna cover the trial then? Anyways it just felt a little too goofy to me to cover such a serious topic particularly well, but it wasn't bad. Also the writing of the 3rd person POV sections was soooo plain and every other sentence started with "Rache thought" or "Rachel walked to the car" etc. and it was really grating.

AMAZING! Loved this book so much!! So many surprises and twists and I was in shock at the end. I can’t wait for the sequel.

I'm not sure how to rate something like this.  I can't say I enjoyed it because of the content but it was well written. The content wasn't supposed to be "liked" and at times it was hard to read.  However,  it was intriguing.  It's more of a court room/ crime thriller instead of a straight up mystery thriller.  I would recommend it but it does have strong content warnings for rape and trauma.

I liked the format/mixed media aspect of this one a lot, but I figured out the twist about 1/3 of the way in.
