"It was absurd how the world kept expecting her to participate when everything was falling apart."

I loved reading Strange Gods and felt fully immersed in Kimble's world.

It feels like a mix between The School for Dangerous Girls meets Holes meets Percy Jackson. If it was darker, and the main girl was kidnapped.

I loved the main 3's journeys, their path to acceptance and who they truly are, compared to what they were thrown into. To go through something traumatizing and scary just to come out of the woodworks, stronger and more confident is a skill all 3 of them now share.

I enjoyed reading through Laurel's (Spooky's) point of view. You can really get into her head and feel like you're right there with her.

I loved the fantasy, the mythology and the magic interspersed in Strange Gods.

I would agree that sometimes it feels more middle grade than young adult, but it's truly up to interpretation.

I highly recommend for any ya dark fantasy lover, lover of magic and mythology and any fan of Holes in general.
