Ms. Marvel is just so consistently SO SOLID. This one is a bit fragmented — starts with a one-shot and ends with a one-shot— but the first one is fun (if in retrospect way too optimistic) and the second one is A DELIGHT (more Bruno-in-wakanda stories forever, give us the spinoff), and the arc in the middle was super heartwarming.

MAY IT RUN FOREVER.

I love Nakia and Zoe.

It's unbelievable how much I relate to Kamala.

That voting chapter was a bit bland, but okay.

One of the best superhero series going on right now. Period. Read it.

I liked this volume but not as much as the prior. The first issue was basically a voting call to arms, which is great and important, it just sucks that based on the publishing date, it came out after the 2016 election was over. Granted this sort of message is important any time of year, but getting it out earlier in the series would probably have been better. I'm not about to be mad about important messages in accessible places for today's youth. Also it was a little ironic that I read it the day before the midterm elections this year!

The second issue has something of a computer virus villain. It wasn't my favorite arc, though I loved all of the gaming terms and MMO references. I'm sure this went over some peoples' heads. I cared little for the actual villain and how to defeat him compared to how the characters reacted. When some hacking in a teen drama means that someone's dirty secret is going to get leaked to the new school, the person reacts one of two ways: they panic and try to keep it from happening, or they own up to it. The latter happened in this volume, and that scene was so well done.
