Solid 4 star read. I really enjoyed the creativity, the characters, and the story. I felt like it had magic, mystery, murder, mayhem, drama, romance. I teared up and felt for June the whole book.

I loved that she was trying to unravel her own actions and make sense of them. Her dealing with the aftermath of an entirely different her was so cool! I loved that. And I loved seeing the different timelines. Ugh. That was so awesome.

I also giggle because the notes and letters give end of Back to the Future 2 vibes 😂 when that guy in the rain hands the envelope to Marty? Yea that. and also big time travelers wife vibes. But like this book is still really unique. Just similar vibes.

This would be a good book for fans of time travel as I think the concept is done well. It’s not super explained but it’s well done and makes clear sense. It allows time travel to be a vessel for the story about love and family and choice. I think it was used wonderfully.

I would say that sometimes character dialogue felt…cheesy? Forced? That was a drawback. And while the characters felt 3D and real, I feel like I will forget them soon after reading this. The other drawback I have is that I felt like the way the solved the curse was too easy. The memory going crazy makes sense, and the idea of not time traveling means that crazy goes away also makes sense. But the door cancel out? And now Addie will never have it? Eh, less like it makes sense and more like it feels…convenient. But also this is a magical realism book so can’t be too mad here.

Overall fun! Good magical realism with wholesome romance/family dynamics that is a fun mystery. I would highly recommend to people that like time travel, magical realism, or those typical “middle aged women” stories. Sorry. Not to catalog this one as that but it is about a 35 year old woman and her family so….fitting.

Time travel isn't for me. I liked the underlying mystery aspect of what had happened to Susanna, but I don't have the Imagination for time travel and I find it silly. I felt about this the same way I did about The Time Traveller's Wife - I don't understand the hype and why people loved it so much. It was just ok.

This was actually really neat. I don’t know what I was expecting going in but this was a neat family curse and yet heartbreaking at the same time. I enjoyed it and wished I could’ve seen a bit more. Premise was fascinating.
