the book hangover i’m about to have will be unmatched. i loved this book! the characters, their stories, their relationships, all were so well written and easy to fall in love with them. the writing style borders on poetic and though the novel takes you through decades, it feels like you’re being swept up and carried gently through. and the cover is beautiful

Delightful.

After a slightly slow start, this book has absolutely blown me away. It's beautifully written with such fine details, it makes me want to instantly go to Italy, see all the art and eat all the food. I adored all the characters, which is rare, and it made for the perfect holiday read. Would even say I'd read it again some day.

I could have ditched this book so many times. The writing style was confusing and hard to read. Honestly felt like a big 450 page run on sentence. Ask me for a book report on this, and I’d fail 😂

What a beautiful portrait of chosen family. I read a good chunk of this sitting at Santo Spirito over many a spritz and could not think of a better accompaniment to my two weeks in Firenze.
