just a bit too slow for me and I can enjoy a plotless character study if it's written in a certain way... this one just wasn't for me! and that's okay.

I loved this novel. It’s very character-driven, which I loved. The cast of characters were all unique in their own way and I loved them all (but especially Cressy and Claude).

I tried for the first several chapters, but the lack of ALL QUOTATION MARKS killed me. I kept having to backtrack when I realized someone had been talking so I could read it correctly, and it ruined the story flow. I get that the author was trying to convey a continuous stream of consciousness from an omniscient narrator, but I just couldn’t handle it.
