May all murder investigations have a nosy Aunt like Audrey. She certainly wasn’t my favourite character but she was compelling.
Really thought I had this one pegged at the beginning but the ending did surprise me.

I've been sitting on this one for a couple years because I fully expected it to be a very mediocre popcorn thriller. I'm happy to report that I was wrong, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! This book has not one likable character, something I usually don't like, but it was actually fun to root against all of them. This was a twisty family drama with lots of well done red herrings (except one that still bugs me after I've finished it). It was propulsive and well written, and the audiobook was really good. I loved that we learn right away what the crime is and spend the rest of the story trying to find out who did it and why—among a cast of characters who all have means and motive. Really pleasantly surprised with this one.

A fun, fast paced, read with good character development and a dive into mystery with a bit of family dynamic commentary. I was a bit underwhelmed by the ending but had a good time overall.
